Pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin, a substance that makes them foul tasting and often lethal to fish. To humans, tetrodotoxin is deadly, up to 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. There is enough toxin in one pufferfish to kill 30 adult humans, and there is no known antidote.

This season, Aquamarine Divers will be offering world wide dive insurance at a very competitive price in association with Indepths and Dive Master Insurance in the UK. Due to the fact that almost all diving aboard MV Philkade is carried out in areas that are far away from medical and/or recompression facilities it is now mandatory that all divers aboard carry their own comprehensive insurance. Most divers already have their own insurance while on dive holidays due to the inherently dangerous nature of the sport, but for those who do not have insurance already, or indeed on arrival, Aquamarine can provide this for you and you will have the reassurance that you have comprehensive world wide dive insurance for the duration of your trip.
Full details are available upon request, but benefits include Hyperbaric Treatment, Medical Expenses, Air Evacuation (again mandatory for trips to Burma and Andaman Islands), Emergency Repatriation and Personal Accident Coverage in event of a recreational diving accident.
Policies are available from single day cover to annual diving cover and you can also add on tour risk cover for non-diving incidents if required. Prices are as follows:
